UEFA announce adjustments in 2022 FIFA World Cup – European qualifiers & UEFA Nations League matches!

Following extensive discussions with the eight national associations concerned (Armenia, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Ukraine, and Wales) and FIFA leading to unanimous agreement, in a remarkable spirit of solidarity and cooperation, UEFA have confirmed the dates for the remaining matches of the European Qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff path involving the team of Ukraine, as well as adaptations to the calendar of some UEFA Nations League matches required to accommodate the postponed playoff matches.

The European Qualifiers Play-off between Scotland and Ukraine will be played on June 1 and the winner will face Wales on June 5 in the Playoff final.

The schedule of the UEFA Nations League groups A4 and B1 (which include the three teams involved in the said play-off path: Scotland, Ukraine and Wales) has been rearranged as follows:

June 1
A4 – Poland v Wales

June 4
B1 – Armenia v Republic of Ireland

June 8
A4 – Belgium v Poland
A4 – Wales v Netherlands

B1 – Scotland v Armenia
B1 – Republic of Ireland v Ukraine

June 11
A4 – Netherlands v Poland
A4 – Wales v Belgium

June 14
A4 – Netherlands v Wales
A4 – Poland v Belgium

September 21
B1 – Scotland v Ukraine

September 24
B1 – Scotland v Republic of Ireland
B1 – Armenia v Ukraine

September 27
B1 – Republic of Ireland v Armenia
B1 – Ukraine v Scotland

The venues and kick-off times of these rearranged fixtures will be confirmed in due course. All matches of the two groups not mentioned above remain scheduled as originally foreseen.
