VfL Bochum extends with Vonovia

VfL Bochum 1848 and Vonovia SE have agreed to continue their main sponsorship agreement. The Bochum-based DAX-listed company will be present on the team’s jersey at the start of the 2021/22 season and is now continuing its commitment. The housing company has already been a partner of the Blue and Whites since 2016 and also holds the naming rights to the Vonovia Ruhrstadion.

“We are very pleased about the extension of this long-standing partnership. It is a strong commitment on the part of our long-standing partner, a commitment to VfL and, of course, to the city of Bochum, whose colours we wear,” says Hans-Peter Villis, CEO of VfL Bochum 1848.

Ilja Kaenzig, spokesperson for the VfL Bochum management, added: “The partnership with Vonovia, one of Germany’s largest companies, is based on great mutual trust and is characterised by respect and appreciation. It is great that we have been able to continue to have Vonovia as our main sponsor.”

“I am very pleased about this contract extension. We have often emphasised our attachment to our home base of Bochum and to VfL Bochum, and we will continue to do so. Vonovia and VfL both enjoy high social relevance locally, regionally and nationally. And together, we are even stronger. That is why it is very close to our hearts that this traditional club bears our logo on its chest,” says Arnd Fittkau, CRO of Vonovia SE.
