VfL Bochum sign Lukas Daschner!

After successfully staying up in the Bundesliga, the next new signing for the 2023/24 season has been confirmed. Lukas Daschner is moving from second division club FC St. Pauli to VfL Bochum 1848 on a free transfer.

With nine goals and seven assists, Daschner played a major role in FC St. Pauli’s strong second division season, which ended in fifth place. The move to VfL is a step towards home. Born in Duisburg, Daschner played for FC Schalke 04 for three years before making the leap to the first team at at MSV Duisburg in 2017. With the Zebras, he managed promotion to the Bundesliga 2 as third division champion in the same year.

“Lukas Daschner is a highly talented offensive player who has continuously developed over the past few years and has impressively demonstrated his qualities in the past season,” says Marc Lettau, technical director of VfL Bochum 1848. “He’s an exciting type of player that makes us even more flexible in our game. He’s a team player who has everything he needs to assert himself at VfL and in the Bundesliga.”

“First of all, I would like to say a big thank you for the trust that VfL has placed in me,” says Lukas Daschner. “I’m happy to be able to play for Bochum. Of course I’m also looking forward to the stadium, the fans and the Bundesliga. As a young footballer, the big goal is to one day appear in the Bundesliga. I can hardly wait and would like to do my part to ensure a successful future for VfL.”
