VfL Bochum sign Noah Loosli for the new season!

The first new signing for the 2023/24 season has been confirmed: Noah Loosli is moving from Swiss Super League club Grasshopper Club Zürich to VfL Bochum 1848.

The 26-year-old central defender is moving on a free transfer and has signed a contract with the Blue-Whites that is valid for both the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 until June 30, 2026. So far, Loosli has made 90 appearances (three goals) in the top Swiss league and also 76 games (seven goals) in the Challenge League.

“We have watched Noah Loosli over a longer period of time and are convinced of his abilities,” said Marc Lettau, Technical Director at VfL Bochum 1848. “Noah has an exceptional willingness to perform and has continuously developed over the past few years. The fact that he has already decided to join our club at such an early stage is a strong signal.”

For Noah Loosli, signing for VfL Bochum marks the beginning of a new phase in his life in many respects. “It’s my first stop abroad, which is a big step for me. But I have the confidence to do it. German soccer is followed closely in Switzerland, the quality of the Bundesliga is extremely high, even in the 2nd Bundesliga tremendous. I’m very much looking forward to VfL Bochum and the league, keeping my fingers crossed for VfL to stay in the league, of course.”
