VfL Wolfsburg have strengthened their defensive ranks with the signing of 24-year-old left-back Nicolas Cozza, who joins the Green-and-Whites from French top-flight club Montpellier HSC with immediate effect.
The Frenchman will wear the number eight shirt at VfL Wolfsburg and has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract through to 30 June 2027.
“Nicolas is a player who has made great progress in recent years,” said VfL sporting director Marcel Schäfer. “He has a good basic tactical understanding and is known for producing high-quality football, which he delivers on a consistent basis despite his young age. We’re looking forward to having a versatile and promising player who will enhance our team.”
Cozza joined Montpellier’s youth academy as an 11-year-old before signing professional terms in 2017. He made his Ligue 1 debut that same year, going on to register 99 top-flight appearances and five goals for the club. He has also represented all of France’s youth teams from U-18 to U-21 level.
