In a landmark collaboration poised to reshape the football landscape in the Northeast, NorthEast United FC and the Meghalaya Government have joined forces to establish the region’s first premier football residential academy.
NorthEast United FC owner John Abraham and CEO Mandar Tamhane recently journeyed to Shillong, where they were presented with documents confirming the allocation of land for this pioneering project. This venture marks a significant milestone in the club’s commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and elevating football standards in the region.
At the event, John Abraham and Mandar Tamhane were joined by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangram, whose steadfast support has been instrumental in driving forward this transformative initiative. Chief Secretary of Meghalaya Shri Donald Phillips Wahlang was also present.
Addressing the audience at the event, John Abraham conveyed his enthusiasm, highlighting, “We are on track to establish one of the finest residential football academies in the region.
