Werder Bremen announce Matthäi as new title & front shirt sponsors!

Building contractor Matthäi will become the new main and shirt sponsor of SV Werder Bremen, as of the 2023/24 season. The new agreement is a further deepening of ties between the two parties, with Matthäi having previously been one of the club’s TOP partners. The new sponsorship agreement will run until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Matthäi, who are headquartered in Verden (Aller), have been a partner of SVW since 2019 – first as a TEAM11 Partner, a patron and sleeve sponsor of the WERDER Football School and an official CSR partner of the club. They have helped to support countless social initiatives and activities organised by the club. Since the start of the 2022/23 season, Matthäi have been one of SV Werder’s TOP partners as well as helping run SPIELRAUM projects in Verden, thereby providing countless children and youth access to sport.

Following the end of the club’s 11-year shirt sponsorship with WIESENHOF, the Green-Whites will now be embarking down a new path. “We are very pleased that our partnership with Matthäi sees another local company join us as our main sponsor, and that we are now intensifying our cooperation with what has been a long-time partner for us,” said Klaus Filbry, CEO of SV Werder. “Matthäi stand for values such as sustainability, strong regional ties, respect for their employees and many other aspects that coincide with the values of SV Werder.”

The new partnership agreement was brokered by Werder’s marketing partner, international sports marketing agency Infront. Marco Sautner, managing director of Infront, said: “Going from a TEAM11 partner to a TOP partner and now to the club’s main sponsor – the development of the cooperation between Matthäi and Werder Bremen makes for a great story. It goes to show how important and valuable shared values are and how a successful partnership can develop. We wish them both the best for a successful partnership over the coming years.”

The management of the Matthäi Group also emphasised: “We are very much looking forward to further deepening the successful partnership of the past years and to give our support for Werder even greater significance in the coming years as the main sponsor. SVW and the Matthäi Group are united in the aspiration to develop something lasting, and this partnership is the beginning. Working together is a process, and achieving goals together is a success.”
