Struggling Indian Super League side SC East Bengal today confirmed that head coach Jose Manuel Diaz and his deputy Angel Puebla Garcia have mutually agreed to part ways due to personal reasons.
Due to off-field issues, SC East Bengal had to somehow put together a team and Manolo Diaz had a tough job on hand which was made even tougher as he is unable to speak English. In his eight matches in-charge, SC East Bengal remained winless with four draws and four losses in ISL-8 so far.
Former India captain and SC East Bengal assistant coach Renedy Singh has taken over charge as interim head coach.
SC East Bengal CEO Col. Shivaji Samaddar said, “We thank Jose and Angel for their contribution and support to the team in the ongoing season. I wish both of them all the best for their future endeavours.”
SC East Bengal take on Bengaluru FC on January 4 at the GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim.
