Rains could force Durand Cup to shift Siliguri matches to Kolkata!

The 129th Durand Cup could be forced due to monsoon rains in North Bengal to shift matches from the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri to Howrah Stadium in Kolkata.

The Durand Cup, which is being restarted after three years, is being held for the first-time in West Bengal across venues in Kolkata, Kalyani and Siliguri.

The Durand Cup – Group D was supposed to be played in Siliguri featuring Gokulam Kerala FC, Chennaiyin FC, TRAU FC, and Indian Air Force from August 8 to 17.

Now due to the rains, the organisers might be forced to shift the matches to Howrah Stadium, which is on the other side of the Hooghly river from Kolkata.
