LaLiga given green light to restart on June 8 by Spanish PM!

The Spanish LaLiga has been given the green light by the Spanish government to restart their competition at the earliest on June 8.

The Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez said in a speech on Saturday, “The time has come to resume many daily activities,” and added, “from June 8, La Liga will return. Spanish football has a huge following.”

And little later, LaLiga tweeted, “The Spanish government has given the green light for the return of professional sport – including #LaLigaSantander and #LaLigaSmartBank – as of June 8th, following guidelines from the Ministry of Health.”

The 2019-20 LaLiga season has been suspended since March 12 when a state of emergency was declared in the country and LaLiga have been looking at June 12 as the date for restart with the Sevilla derby between FC Sevilla and Real Betis as the match to restart the league.
