adidas & Orlando City unveil 2022 The Sunshine kit!

Orlando City SC have unveiled their new community kit ahead of the 2022 MLS season, The Sunshine kit by adidas.

Inspired by the Sunshine State in which the Club resides, the new 2022 Sunshine Kit is not your typical white jersey and is made for more than just soccer fans.

“We’re excited to unveil a new, bold look for Orlando City to sport during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. The state of Florida is famous for many things, but perhaps none more so than its sunshine and colorful horizons,” Orlando City SC SVP of Brand and Marketing Pedro Araujo said. “We can’t wait for the team to represent and carry all of Central Florida with them when they wear this kit. Of course, we’d like to also thank our partners at Orlando Health for another season as our presenting partner and for their dedication to the Club since the beginning.”

A nod to the dazzling skies and a reference to the endless summers of the Sunshine State, the Sunshine Kit is anchored in the natural art created by Florida’s weather, reflecting the bold colors of the sunrises and sunsets seen from the seats of Exploria Stadium and across Central Florida.

The kit features shades of gold to represent the sun, orange as a nod to Florida’s famous citrus, followed by the Club’s iconic purple to form a unique sunrise/sunset effect down the front of the jersey. The kit will blend seamlessly to the Lions’ familiar purple shorts, marking the first time in Club history the community kit will be worn with dark shorts.

Prominently displayed across the front of the jersey is the Club’s presenting partner and Official Medical Team, Orlando Health, marking the 12th-consecutive year that Orlando Health is featured on the Orlando City primary and secondary jerseys.

Additional features of the Sunshine Kit include a silhouette of Exploria Stadium in front of the Orlando skyline at sunset on the Jock Tag, and, debuting with this kit, a new and simplified Orlando City sun logo on the neck.

Whether taking in a match at Exploria Stadium, exploring the Greater Orlando arts scene or hitting the waves on one of Central Florida’s coastline, the kit was created to be as colorful and relaxed as the Sunshine State.

To wrap up the Club’s annual Kickoff to Soccer events, the jersey was unveiled at the third-annual City Art Jam presented by Orlando Health, which also featured appearances by OCA Unified Eagles, who are representing Team Florida at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games, as well as a speed painting competition hosted by No Borders Art Competition. Eight local artists battle the clock to create unique depictions of the Club and community in a celebration of all things purple.
