AFC announces US media rights partnership with CBS Sports!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today announced a media rights partnership with CBS Sports in the United States of America and its territories (including Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico), giving fans across the country access to live English-language coverage of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ and the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2028™, with every match streaming live on Paramount+.

The agreement places CBS Sports and Paramount+ at the forefront of growing the visibility of the AFC’s premier national team competitions and deepening engagement with Asian football in one of the world’s most dynamic media markets.

The AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ will showcase Asia’s finest national teams, featuring some of football’s most recognisable international icons, as 24 teams compete across 51 matches from January 7 to February 5. The AFC U23 Asian Cup 2028™ will also serve as the official Asian qualification tournament for the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.

Leveraging CBS Sports’ extensive reach across linear and streaming platforms, fans can enjoy comprehensive live coverage of both competitions on the Paramount+ streaming service, while select matches will air across the CBS Sports Network cable channel and the CBS Sports Golazo Network, which provides free access to viewers, including on Pluto TV.

AFC General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John said: “Our partnership with CBS Sports accelerates our mission to bring Asian football to a global audience. As the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 demonstrates, the US is a rapidly expanding football market. The AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ promises to be our best edition yet, and with the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics on the horizon, we are confident Paramount+ and CBS Sports will deliver world-class coverage, bringing the passion and drama of the AFC’s premier national team competitions to millions of fans across the United States.”

Dan Weinberg, Executive Vice President of Programming, CBS Sports, said: “CBS Sports is proud to showcase the AFC action across our platforms, as these elite Asian nations continue to make their mark on football’s biggest Continental stage. Paramount+ is the premier and must-have destination for soccer fans in this country, and the addition of both high-stakes tournaments provides even more value to subscribers.”

Patrick Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Football Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome CBS Sports back as our broadcast partner in the USA, this time for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ and the AFC U23 Asian Cup 2028™, two marquee competitions on the AFC calendar.
