AFC’s Shaikh Salman lauds impact of new development programmes in meeting with FA of Maldives!

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa met with the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) President Bassam Adeel Jaleel in the Malaysian capital on Saturday to discuss ways to further strengthen the development of the game in Maldives.

Shaikh Salman praised President Jaleel, who has been leading the FAM since 2016, for spearheading an era of notable stability and progress in the South Asian nation.

There has also been regional success for Maldives with the national team clinching the SAFF Championship in 2018 and club side Maziya Sports & Recreation also proving to be a commendable outfit in the South zone of the AFC Cup™.
The AFC President also shared the Confederation’s breakthrough programmes and projects to aid the development of the beautiful game, reiterating the significance of forging greater collaboration with the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs) to expand the impact of these programmes.

The AFC President said: “The AFC is fully committed towards closing the gap across our inspiring, developing and aspiring Member Associations.

“The latest AFC Enhance Programme has been introduced with the clear goal of empowering our Member Associations, which includes the FAM, with the necessary support to enhance their capabilities in the crucial areas of technical, refereeing and administrative development,” added Shaikh Salman.
