Assistant coach Malik Fathi has extended his contract at VfB Stuttgart until summer 2027. The 40-year-old’s new deal matches the duration of the recently extended contracts of head coach Sebastian Hoeneß and fellow assistant coach David Krecidlo.
Fathi joined the VfB coaching staff last summer. Before his move to Stuttgart, the two-time Germany international, who made 175 Bundesliga appearances as a player for Hertha BSC and Mainz 05, worked as a coach in the Hertha academy.
VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth: “We’re pleased about the early extension to Malik Fathi’s contract. Malik has very quickly become an important factor within our coaching team since his move to VfB.”
