ATK Mohun Bagan toughest challenge for Jamshedpur FC yet!

Jamshedpur FC will be facing their toughest challenge on December 7 when they go up against ATK Mohun Bagan in their fourth fixture of the season. The Mariners, so far, have won all 3 of their fixtures while keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets. On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC are yet to register their first win of the season after bagging 2 draws and 1 loss so far.

ATK Mohun Bagan have been thriving off their counter-attacking play with four goals in three games in what has been a perfect start to their ISL campaign. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC will push harder than ever, to score their first win, but in light of the might of their opposition, Owen Coyle’s side will have to bring in a new strategy to get maximum points off the contest against the defending ISL champions.

Both the teams have gone head-to-head 6 times so far, and out of all the contests, ATK Mohun Bagan have managed to come out victorious 3 times. They have dominated almost every team they faced last season and climbed up the league table to win the title for the third time; they defeated Owen Coyle’s former club, Chennaiyin FC, and became the most successful football club in the history of the league.

ATK Mohun Bagan have also had one of the tightest defences this season and this is because of their experienced backline consisting of players like Sandesh Jhingan, Pritam Kotal, Prabir Das and former Jamshedpur FC captain Tiri. On the other hand, Jamshedpur FC possess a strong defence as well with Stephen Eze, Peter Hartley, Dinliana and Ricky Lallawmawma guarding the line.

Both the teams have a set of tactical and ferocious players playing in the midfield and attacking positions as well, and with players like Nerka, Jacki, Alex, Aniket competing with the likes of David Williams, Edu Garcia and Roy Krishna, the clash between these two clubs is surely going to be one of the most exhilarating ones this season.

Interesting fact – head coaches, Owen Coyle and Antonio Habas, will be meeting for the first time after they went face to face in the ISL finals last season.

Jamshedpur FC will be facing ATK Mohun Bagan at the Tilak Maidan on Monday night. Tune-in to Hotstar and Star Sports Network at 7.30pm for the live telecast of the match.
