ATK sign Emiliano Alfaro on loan from FC Pune City!

Former Indian Super League champions ATK have announced that Uruguayan striker Emiliano Alfaro has signed for them on loan from rivals FC Pune City.

ATK have been looking for a replacement for Nigerian striker Kalu Uche, who suffered an extensive tear in his quadriceps muscle, and found the same in Emiliano Alfaro.

At Montevideo-based Liverpool FC 30 year old Emiliano Alfaro played at youth level before he gained his first professional experience from 2006 onwards as a teenager. In 2010 he spend some time at CA San Lorenzo in Argentina but returned after his loan spell.

In January 2012, Emiliano Alfaro made a move to Europe and signed for Italian Serie A side Lazio Roma, but after only six months he was send to UAE Pro League side Al Wasl FC on a season long loan. Thereafter he was send to his first pro club FC Liverpool in Montevideo having his goal scoring touch back, but he would never ever again play for Lazio Roma.

He was transferred to Thai Premier League side Buriram United but due to an injury he would never play for them. Former Uruguay international Emiliano Alfaro has been out of the game for the first half of 2016, but played in the second half of the year at NorthEast United FC before playing for Al-Fujairah SC in the first half of 2017.

In the second half of 2017, Alfaro returned to India to join FC Pune City where he scored nine goals in 19 matches and formed a formidable partnership with Brazilian Marcelinho. But this season the story has been different as Alfaro has only scored one goal in eight matches with FC Pune City bottom of the ISL.

Now Alfaro gets a second chance at ATK to prove that he is a better striker then what he has played in ISL-5 so far.
