Axel Hellmann staying at Eintracht Frankfurt!

Axel Hellmann will remain with Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG as CEO. The 51-year-old lawyer informed the chairman of the supervisory board, Philip Holzer, this Tuesday, May 2 morning that he will continue his contractual relationship as planned.

There had been speculation in recent weeks about the future of Hellmann, who is currently also serving as interim managing director of the German Football League (DFL) until June 30, 2023. Hellmann’s contract of employment at Eintracht Frankfurt is valid until June 30, 2027.

“For me, the decisive factor is that there is still a lot we can do at Eintracht Frankfurt,” said Axel Hellmann, CEO of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG. “Due to my position as CEO, it was necessary and important to ensure in recent weeks that the development of the club can continue to be vigorously pursued at all levels. In discussions with the key decision-makers at Eintracht, I have fleshed out my ideas in this regard and it became clear that everyone wants to work together to create the conditions for us to be competitive and have a successful future.”

“Retaining Axel Hellmann is an important signal for the entire club, with regard to the new season but also in the final stretch of the current campaign,” said Philip Holzer, chairman of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supervisory board. “It’s understandable that he’s been thinking about his future in recent weeks. In the open and good discussions we have had in the last few weeks, we’ve found that different opinions have been resolved and that there is a good basis for continued successful cooperation.”
