Jan van Loon’s Blue Colts cruised 9-0 winners past ADE FC in the BDFA Super Division League at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Friday. Goals from Monirul Molla (15′) Ankith Padmanabhan (17′,31′,41′,47′), Kamalesh P (22′), Sudheer Kotikala (27′,90′) and Vivaan Dey (77′) ensured a comfortable three points for Bengaluru FC, who now have 19 points in eight games and sit in fourth position.
The game started off with Bengaluru FC on the front foot, creating chances from the get-go. The breakthrough finally came through Molla, who was found by Amay Morajkar in the 18-yard-box, the striker tapped home from close range to make it 1-0.
Moments later, Ankith got in on the action with an incredible run through the heart of the ADE backline, before chipping the ball over an onrushing ADE goalkeeper to double the lead. It wasn’t long before the Blue Colts went full throttle, as Kamalesh picked up the ball at the edge of the penalty box and curled it into the far corner to make it 3-0.
Only five minutes later, Sudheer got in on the act and added his name to the scoresheet. With an attack seeming to fizzle away, the ball ricocheted in the box before falling kindly for the striker, who buried it past a hapless ADE keeper.
Ankith went on to score a first half hat-trick which saw the scoreline at 6-0 heading into the break. Into the second period, Padmanabhan grabbed a fourth when Amay’s through ball found him, who rounded the goalkeeper before slotting into an empty net.
A sublime volley from Vivaan flew past the ADE ‘keeper to make it 8-0 before Sudheer bagged his second to make it nine goals for Bengaluru against an ADE side that simply couldn’t keep up.
The Blue Colts next face ASC & Centre FC on October 21 at the same venue.
