Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting Club were crowned champions of the inaugural IFA Futsal Championship 2022 in Kolkata.
The Black Panthers beat Khidderpore Sporting Club 5-2 in the final at the Spring Club indoor hall in Kolkata on Friday, October 14.
As a result of this win, Mohammedan Sporting will represent West Bengal in this yeat’s AIFF Futsal Championship.
IFA Secretary Anirban Dutta and former footballer Dipendu Biswas handed over the awards to the two finalists. Apart from this, IFA Futsal Committee Chairman Jahan Mehta, tournament in-charge Aparup Chakraborty, and another member Aditya Dalmiya were also present.
Incidentally, this is the first time that the IFA (West Bengal) has organized a Bengal Futsal Championship with proper infrastructure and according to the FIFA rules of futsal.
