Bundesliga adds three new sponsors for Relegation playoff games!

The Bundesliga has secured three new sponsors for its upcoming relegation/promotion playoff games between the Bundesliga/Bundesliga 2 and Bundesliga 2/3.Liga.

The DFL (German Football League) has signed with shoe manufacturer Atlas Schuhfabrik, business comparison website Werkenntdenbesten, and jobsite Orizon, which previously sponsored the play-offs in 2015. The new partners replace Lieferando, Media Markt, Sky, and Vodafone, and join five existing sponsors.

The three companies will be official partners for the Bundesliga, Bundesliga 2, and 3. Liga playoff matches, and will receive brand exposure during the games, along with permission to promote the season-ending contests across their digital platforms.

The playoffs take place at the end of each German league season between teams in adjacent divisions, with the Bundesliga play-off contested by the team that finished 16th in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top division, and the side that finished third in Bundesliga 2, the country’s second tier. The winners of the two-legged tie are rewarded with a place in next season’s top flight, and the same format is used for the two leagues below.

The first game kicks off this Thursday, when 2008/09 Bundesliga champions VfL Wolfsburg will bid to extend their stay in the top flight against close-by rivals Eintracht Braunschweig in a Lower Saxony derby.

In the Bundesliga 2/3.Liga it’s an all Bavarian affair with 1860 Munich taking on SSV Jahn Regensburg.
