Bundesliga clubs to kick-off 2017/18 season at the Telekom Cup 2017!

The new Bundesliga season is scheduled to kick-off on August 18 and the clubs have started their pre-season training in the last couple of days. But four top clubs will be eager to impress with some quality football in advance as they meet at the Telekom Cup 2017: Borussia Mönchengladbach will play host to Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and SV Werder Bremen at the BORUSSIA-PARK on July 15.

„The Telekom Cup is a great tournament, which has an immense reputation due to the the list of top-class participants. It has become an inherent part of our pre-season preparations,“ said Max Eberl, Director of Sport, Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Telekom Cup took place twice in Mönchengladbach (2013 and 2015) and the home side is looking forward to the host the prestigous pre-season tournament for a third time. „We are happy to host the Telekom Cup for a third time,“ said Stephan Schippers, CEO, Borussia Mönchengladbach. „We would like to be a great host once again and we are looking forward to introduce our new team to the fans at this occasion.“

Borussia Mönchengladbach is scheduled to take on Werder Bremen in the first semifinal at 14.00 CET (17.30 IST), while FC Bayern Munich and 1899 Hoffenheim would clash in the second semifinal at 15.15 CET (18.45 IST). The losing semifinalists will feature in a 3rd Place Match (16.30 CET / 20.00 IST), before the 9th edition of the Telekom Cup culminates in the Final (17.45 CET / 21.15 IST).

All the matches will have a duration of 45 minutes without extra-time. A penalty shoot-out would take place in case of a draw at full time.

All the matches will be broadcast live by German TV channel Sat.1. Matthias Killing and Andrea Kaiser will be the hosts.

Tickets for the Telekom Cup 2017 are available at www.telekomcup.de and have been priced to suit every budget and range from € 12,50 to € 40,00.
