Byju’s completes National Supporter roster for 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India!

A significant milestone was reached in the build-up to the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, which will take place across six Host Cities as of October 6, as education technology firm Byju’s became the latest high-profile company to join the roster of National Supporters for the tournament.

Founded in 2007, Byju’s is India’s leading education technology provider and encourages children to “fall in love with learning”. Focused on creating personalised and engaging learning experiences with technology as an enabler, over 8 million students have so far taken advantage of the learning platform.

Byju Raveendran, founder and CEO of Byju’s – The Learning App, said, “We are excited to be a National Supporter of the first-ever FIFA World Cup in India. At Byju’s, we strongly believe in the holistic development of the student through both curricular and co-curricular learning, where sport plays an integral role. Football is fast gaining popularity in India among school students and this World Cup will increase it further.”

FIFA Director of Marketing Services Jean-François Pathy commented, “Just like Byju’s, FIFA recognises the enormous potential of the younger generation. Having Byju’s support and that of the five other National Supporters is vital for a successful FIFA tournament, the development of football and also for the creation of a strong legacy for India.”

Following the signing of Byju’s and the previous agreements with Bank of Baroda, Hero MotoCorp, Coal India Limited, Dalmia Cement Bharat Ltd and NTPC Ilimited, all six National Supporter slots for the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India have now been filled.

The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India will kick off on October 6 and will be the first FIFA tournament to be played in India, where hundreds of young stars will get a chance to showcase their abilities on a global stage.

With less than a week to go, fans in the Host Cities are gearing up for the tournament, and tickets can be purchased online at www.fifa.com/india2017/ticketing or at any of the box offices located in the six Host Cities of Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and New Delhi at a 25 per-cent discount until October 5.
