Carl McHugh extends his contract with ATK Mohun Bagan until 2024!

Former Indian Super League champions ATK Mohun Bagan have announced the contract extension of their Irish midfielder Carl McHugh by two years until 2024.

29 year old Lettermacaward-born Carl Gerard McHugh Carl Gerard McHugh played football locally in Ireland before signing for the FC Reading Academy. He had loan spells with semi-pro sides Swindown Supermarine and Dundalk FC before signing for Bradford City AFC and Plymouth Argyle in the English Football League.

He joined Scottish Premiership side Motherwell FC in 2016 and had three successful seasons with them, even being their captain in the 2017/18 season.

In 2019, McHugh moved to India, but an injury cut his season short despite ATK winning the ISL-6 title. In the last two seasons gone by, McHugh stood out for ATK Mohun Bagan not only as a midfielder but also as a stand-in centre-back.

Now Carl McHugh extends his stay with the Mariners for another couple of seasons.
