Chennai City FC sign strikers Junior Joachim & Ildar Amirov for I-League!

I-League side Chennai City FC have signed two strikers in Frenchmen Jean-Michel Junior Joachim and Ildar Amirov of Kyrgyzstan ahead of the the 2017/18 season campaign.

25 year old Les Ulis-born Jean-Michel Junior Joachim started his professional career with AS Nancy in the French leagues with a loan spell at US Boulogne. He then played for Wiltz in the Luxembourg league before joining English lower league side Carlisle United.

In the summer Junior Joachim was on trial at National League North side Kidderminster Harriers and signed a short term contract with them, but left them to now join Chennai City FC in the Indian I-League.

29 year old Ildar Amirov returns to India for a second stint after having played for East Bengal last season, but after not convincing the club officials he had been released by the red and gold.

Amirov has played for Kyrgyzstan U-21, Muras-Sport Bishkek, Dordoi-Dynamo Naryn, Dordoi Bishkek, Udon Thani, Abdish-Ata Kant, Alay Osh, and FC Alga Bishkek (twice) before playing in Turkey for Turanspor and then East Bengal in India.

On his return to India and the I-League, Ildar Amirov will hope to impress at Chennai City FC, who had earlier signed midfielder Baafi Jackson of Ghana and Nigerian forward Michael Lucky Kelechukwu.
