Mizoram Premier League-6: Chhinga Veng FC put four past Mizoram Police!

MFA Super Cup and I-Day champions Chhinga Veng FC showed their intent on securing a treble this season with a brilliant comeback victory over Mizoram Police FC.

But it was the favorites for the tie who struggled to find any rhythm in the early parts of the match. Mizoram Police took advantage and went ahead on the 21st minute when striker F. Lalrinpuia struck the back of the net.

The goal kicked Chhinga Veng FC into life as they immediately scrambled for an equaliser. And they went close when Laldampuia and M.S. Dawngliana both missed good opportunites. But their attacking prowess soon found a way through Mizoram Police’s backline and scored two in the space of six minutes with strikes from Laldampuia and Malsawmfela.

Chhinga Veng FC then started to dominate proceedings in the second half as they asked questions of their opponent’s backline time and again.

They scored their third in the 68th minute with a header from R. Malsawmtluanga and looked set for victory.

Sangbera and Ramtharmawia forced saves from Chhinga Veng FC goalkeeper T. Mawia but it was just not their night as Malsawmfela scored his second of the night in stoppage time.

Midfield maestro R. Malsawmtluanga was named man of the match for his efforts.

(M: F Lalrinpuia 21′; C: Laldampuia 39′, Malsawmfela 45′, 90+3′, Malsawmtluanga 68′)
