Daichi Kamada to leave Eintracht Frankfurt!

Eintracht Frankfurt and Daichi Kamada will go their separate ways at the end of the 2022/23 campaign. The Japan international joined the Eagles from Sagan Tosu in summer 2017 and spent part of the 2018/19 season on loan at Belgian top-flight side VV St Truiden, where he made his breakthrough in European football.

Kamada has made 170 appearances for the Eagles to date across all competitions, scoring 37 goals and registering 31 assists. The 26-year-old has 18 goals and 27 assists in 119 Bundesliga outings, but he has tended to save his best performances for the European stage: in 38 continental appearances, Kamada has scored 14 and set up a further four goals. The attacker was also part of the Eintracht side that won the DFB Cup in 2018 before helping the Eagles to UEFA Europa League glory in 2022.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche said, “Daichi Kamada has developed into a very good Bundesliga player at Eintracht Frankfurt over the past few years and has played his part in the club’s sporting development – culminating in last season’s Europa League triumph. We would have liked Daichi to remain at Eintracht, but that didn’t align with the player’s interests. We thank him for his commitment to Eintracht and wish him all the best for the future.”
