Delhi Dynamos look for full 3 points as they face FC Pune City at home!

delhi-dynamos-fc-pune-cityDelhi Dynamos FC are set to face FC Pune City tonight in their third home match of the 2016 Indian Super League campaign. The match will be played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The Lions will be hoping to make their home match count after suffering their first defeat of the tournament in their last game, when they were beaten by Atlético de Kolkata in an away game.

Delhi Dynamos FC Head Coach Gianluca Zambrotta would expect his players to rise up to the occasion and play freely in the game. With three draws and one defeat in the last four games, the Italian would be asking his players to put in a determined display and come out with three crucial points.

The team rued missing chances in the last match and would be expecting its strikers to finish better. Speaking to the media after the match, Zambrotta had said: “We had good preparations for the game. We lost an opportunity by missing the penalty which should have been scored and we could have been leading 1-0 but there were some other mistakes and we can learn from them to do better in the next match.”

FC Pune City are languishing in the seventh position on the ranking table with five points from five matches. The Antonio Lopez Habas side held champions Chennaiyin FC in the last game to a 1-1 draw after coming back from being 0-1 behind. The team would be hoping to take home something in what is a crucial encounter for the Pune based outfit to get their ISL-3 campaign back on track, and are expected to come attacking at the Delhi Dynamos.

Delhi Dynamos have a brilliant record against FC Pune City. Having played four matches in the past, the Dynamos have won thrice against the opposition, losing only once. This stat would add the much-needed psychological advantage to the home side, who would be gunning for their first victory at home.

The coach looked at the positives from the last match and asked his boys to concentrate to get a better result. Zambrotta said the Lions will have to move on from this defeat quickly and focus on that match. “We have to take the positives from the last match and we have to focus on the next match and got to prepare well as we know our next opponent is a very good team”, he said.

Making the match extra special will be the presence of India’s bladerunner Major D.P. Singh, who would do a lap of honour at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at half time during the game. Delhi Dynamos also announced that the club would be supporting the SwachhAbility Run 2016, which is an initiative by Major Singh for changing the perception towards Persons with Disabilities as well as to spread the message of a cleaner India.
