Mizoram Premier League: Resurgent Dinthar FC pummel Bethlehem Vengthlang FC!

mpl-dinthar-fc-bethlehem-vengthlang-fcThe final fixture of the opening round of phase 2 of the Mizoram Premier League – Season 5 saw bottom-table strugglers Dinthar FC battle against a Bethlehem Vengthlang FC side with only a solitary loss in Phase 1.

Dinthar FC, coming off a huge morale-boosting transfer window saw three out of state players in their starting line-up and it paid dividends. They dominated from the off and duly got their reward after 9 minutes, when Lalruatpuia finished off a free kick from Mala which Bethlehem Vengthlang FC struggled to clear.

About a minute later, Dinthar FC were at it again as they regained possession, broke forward and striker Michael Lalremruata rounded goalkeeper Mala to grab their second.

The second half saw Bethlehem Vengthlang FC looking to pull one back early on but to no avail, as they were thwarted by a bouyed Dinthar FC time and again. Dinthar FC’s Saitea saw his effort fumbled by Bethlehem Vengthlang FC’s Mala, but the goalkeeper recovered in time before being punished.

The best chance of the second half came from substitute Samuel for Dinthar FC, coming close in the dying minutes.

Goalscorer Michael Lalremruata was awarded the Man of the Match for the goalscoring shift he put in.
