Delhi FC faced a tough defeat against Gokulam Kerala in a thrilling match at the Namdhari Stadium. Despite their best efforts, Delhi FC was unable to secure a victory, ultimately falling 1-2 to their opponents.
The match started off on a high note for Delhi FC, as the continuously breached and troubled the Gokulam Kerala defence and went into the break with a smile, with Pape Gassama’s corner kick getting them a goal just before half time via a deflection off a Gokulam Kerala player.
The home team looked strong and maintained their lead for the majority of the game, with goalkeeper Naveen Kumar putting on a stellar performance to keep Gokulam Kerala at bay.
However, luck was not on Delhi FC’s side as a hand ball in the box led to a penalty for Gokulam Kerala, which was successfully converted by Alex Sanchez to level the score at 1-1. In a heartbreaking turn of events, Gokulam Kerala managed to score a late goal in the 92nd minute, leaving Delhi FC with no time to mount a comeback.
