“Melior de cinere surgo” are the words that make up a famous inscription on the Ferdinandea Gate in Catania. Meaning “I rise stronger from the ashes”, it sums up how the local population continues to rebuild their city upon the ashes, more beautiful than ever each time.
These words mark the resumption of the adventures of the new club, Catania Società Sportiva Dilettantistica, which is gearing up to start the new Serie D Championship with a new home and away match kit designed and produced by Erreà Sport.
The home shirt features a deliberately classic style, with broad red and blue vertical stripes. The cuffs and the patch inside the collar feature narrower stripes in the same colours for decoration. The model is completed with a collar and a new take on the V neck, in white.
With a white background and a round neck, the away shirt has raglan sleeves with a red and blue stripe pattern.
On the back, behind the collar of both shirts, are the words “Melior de cinere surgo”, symbolising rebirth.
The simple design of these shirts represents a new start, designed to leave room for the new emblem of the club from Catania, which blends traditional and innovative elements.
With a semi-fitted wearability, the fabric used is Mundial, which is soft and comfortable, with a double-knit construction, characterised by the presence of tiny micro holes designed to ensure ventilation and optimum regulation of the body’s temperature. Breathability rounds off the characteristics of this thread that has a “second-skin effect”, ideal for supporting match performances.
Like all Erreà garments, this collection is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. Since 2007, this is a standard that has been imposing extremely strict limits on harmful substances, guaranteeing a high level of garment quality and safety.
