FC Schalke 04 sign Bryan Lasme!

Pace and danger for the Royal Blues on the wing: FC Schalke 04 have signed Bryan Lasme. The French attacker arrives from Arminia Bielefeld on a free transfer and has signed a contract until summer 2027.

Lasme moved to the then-Bundesliga side in summer 2021, scoring twice in 23 appearances in his first season. In the most recent campaign, the 24-year-old, who can play on either wing as well as through the middle, racked up a total of 10 goals and assists in 32 Bundesliga 2 games.

“Bryan is bringing with him a great set of traits for a winger: At 1.94m tall, his speed and power are exceptional. He gives us even more flexibility in attack,” said André Hechelmann, sporting director of FC Schalke 04. “In addition, Bryan has absolutely convinced us in our discussions that he will enrich our squad, both as a player and as a person.”

Head coach Thomas Reis echoes that sentiment: “Bryan often looks to run deep and gets behind opponents and the defensive line. He’ll help us create chances against those teams who sit deep, and with his dynamism and directness he’ll shine in creating dangerous counter attacks.”

Lasme is very excited and looking forward to getting started with the Royal Blues: “Moving to Schalke is a big step in my career and I’m very proud to be here. I’m looking forward to working with my teammates and the coaching staff. It’s my goal to improve and get a bit better every day, to help us achieve our goals as a team.”

From 2014 to 2021, Lasme was part of FC Sochaux, being loaned out to SO Cholet for the 2018/19 season. In three games for the France U-20 team, the attacker has scored one goal.
