The Football Players Association of India (FPAI) XI and Mizoram XI will play an exhibition match in Aizawl on July 1. This exhibition match is jointly organised by the FPAI and the Mizoram Football Association (MFA).
The FPAI will also present its FPAI Indian Football Awards on the night of July 1, which is also being organised in collaboration with the MFA.
The biggest names in Indian football will feature for the FPAI XI while the Mizoram XI will field the brightest Mizo talents in Indian football right now.
THE FPAI has already confirmed names such as I-League champions Aizawl FC skipper and Liberian international Alfred Jaryan besides former Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC striker Michael Chopra, who currently plays for Kerala Blasters in the ISL. In the past Chopra has been named in the Professional Footballers‘ Association Team of the Year on two occasions as well as being called up for England U-16, U-17, U-19, U-20 national teams.
The squad for the FPAI XI is yet to be finalised but beyond Chopra and Jaryan, names like Debjit Majumder, Mohammed Rafique, Gouramangi Singh, Pritam Kotal, Deepak Kumar Mondal, Narayan Das, C.K. Vineeth, Renedy Singh, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Subrata Pal and Jewel Raja have been confirmed.
The Mizoram XI will feature Mizo players from the ISL and the I-League as well as star names from the Mizoram Premier League.
