France’s Trophee des Champions 2023 to be played in Bangkok!

The LFP Board of Directors has decided to hold the 2023 edition of the Trophée des Champions in Bangkok, Thailand.

After two consecutive editions in Tel Aviv, Israel, the first official match of the season between the defending Ligue 1 Uber Eats champion and the reigning winner of Coupe de France will take place in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday on August 5, 2023, at the Rajamangala National Stadium.

This is the fourth time in its history that the Trophée des Champions, Ligue 1 Uber Eats’ flagship international event, will be held in Asia.

After the 2014 edition in Beijing, China and the 2018 and 2019 editions in Shenzhen, China the LFP decided to return to Asia, a key market in its international development strategy.

For this 2023 edition, the LFP has turned to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, with the ambition to create a French Football Festival in South East Asia, home to estimated 400 million football fans and filling the famous Rajamangala National Stadium, in partnership with Fresh Air Festival Co., Ltd..

Fresh Air Festival is a leading Thai Events promoter, having hosted major concerts, festivals and the biggest Football Match ever held in the region last summer.

Alongside Fresh Air Festival Group, the LFP is very pleased to offer the best of French Football to the Thai public and to promote France’s image across the region and internationally.

As part of its CSR strategy, and in addition to the efforts to reduce the carbon footprint that are carried out as part of the organisation of the Trophée des Champions, the LFP has decided to contribute to France’s climate commitments aimed at carbon neutrality. Therefore, the LFP will participate in the financing of a project labelled « Label Bas Carbone » (« Low Carbon Label ») by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, which will allow the reduction of France’s greenhouse gas emissions.
