In yet another exciting Goa U-16 League match played at the Cansaulim Football Ground, the Salgaocar FC Under-16 boys hammer seven goals past UYC Bogmallo U-16s who did not go down without a fight.
Salgaocar FC took the lead in the 3rd Minute when Samward Pereira placed the ball into the net from a cross and doubled their lead in the very next minute through Kenneth D’Costa with a thunderous strike in the top left corner from 25 yards out. Bogmallo managed to pull one back in the 18th minute through Lakshay Gawde but Kenneth got his second and Salgaocars third in the 22nd minute who made no mistakes in placing the ball into the net. Aaron Barreto added his name to the scoresheet making it 4-1 and it stayed that way until the break.
On resumption Bogmallo got back into the game through Lakshay Gawas who got his second goal of the match in the 47th minute. Aaron Barreto again extended the lead with a brilliant goal and Ameya Kanadikar who came on as a substitute added to the scoreline making it 6-2 in the 70th minute. Stalen Lucas and Jayson Landes with a gem of a free kick added two quick goals for Bogmallo making it 6-4 in the 72nd and 73rd minute which came as a shock to the Salgaocar bench. But The young Green Brigade calmed all nerves when Brison Fernandes scored in the 75th minute and ending the match in style despite a rare 7-4 scoreline.
