Independent investigation says, No Racism at Premier League!

In January 2023, the Premier League Board commissioned an independent investigation into allegations made by a former consultant that he had suffered race discrimination in the workplace, and that the Premier League and certain employees had treated him less favourably as a result of the issues he raised.

The independent investigation, conducted thoroughly by Craig Rajgopaul, an external specialist barrister, does not uphold these allegations, and concludes that neither the Premier League nor its employees were found to be involved in any such conduct.

The findings did highlight three occasions where the management of sensitive situations or conversations should have been of a higher standard and advises that training gaps be filled. This advice will now be followed.

Discrimination and prejudice have no place at the Premier League, or anywhere in football. The Premier League’s priority and commitment is to an open, fair and inclusive workplace, and to the effectiveness of its wider equality, diversity, inclusion and anti-discrimination initiatives.
