Maharashtra rivals, FC Pune City and Mumbai City FC, both kicked off their Indian Super League – Season 3 campaign with a Maha derby at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune with Matias Defederico scoring the lone goal winner for the visitors from Mumbai.
FC Pune City were without their new Spanish coach Antonio Habas on the bench as he will miss FCPC’s first four matches after being sanctioned for indecent behaviour last season, when he was still in-charge of Atletico de Kolkata.

FC Pune City directly after falling behind tried to equalise, but Jesus Tato’s numerous attempts were no problem for Roberto Volpato Neto, who in the end won the game for the visitors from Mumbai.
