Key battle in Jamshedpur FC & Bengaluru FC encounter!

Jamshedpur FC are all set to take on Bengaluru FC in their next home match in the Indian Super League, and anticipation is at an all-time high considering the upturn in fortunes for both sides.

A draw and a win in their last couple of games has given the Men of Steel a sliver of hope to make the playoffs, while Bengaluru are on their way up the table after a string of good results.

This match could feature some of the best players in the league against each other, and here are some of the battles to keep an eye on:

Ricky Lallawmawma vs Udanta Singh

The presence of Ricky Lallawmawma has been key in defence this season for Jamshedpur, and he could have his hands full on Wednesday against the pace of Udanta Singh.

Ricky enjoyed a good outing against East Bengal last time out, but Udanta’s agility and skill could prove a handful considering the aggressive style of play Bengaluru have exhibited in recent games.

A Tata Football Academy (TFA) graduate himself, Udanta has something to prove at the Furnace, and will hope to keep the JFC defenders on their toes.

Alan Costa vs Ritwik Das

Alan Costa has come into his own for Bengaluru FC in recent matches, and the Brazilian will have his sights set on trying to stop the free-flowing Ritwik Das come Wednesday.

Ritwik is now the joint top scorer for Jamshedpur alongside Daniel Chima Chukwu, and his three goals in the last two games have given the Men of Steel some much needed impetus in attack.

The fans of Jamshedpur will once again look to Ritwik to showcase his dribbling ability and obvious goalscoring capability against Bengaluru FC, with Costa the likely one assigned to stop his forward momentum.

Pronay Halder vs Rohit Kumar

The midfield battle on Wednesday could be decided between two top Indian players in Pronay Halder and Rohit Kumar. A goal in the last game against Odisha FC has given Rohit a lot of confidence, but standing in front of him will be the ever-reliable Pronay Halder.

Halder has added some much needed solidity in the JFC midfield since arriving in January, and his impact has transferred to the rest of the squad, who realise his importance to the team.

Halder vs Kumar could be a battle to keep an eye on, and with Bengaluru’s midfield likely to be a key contributor to the team’s goals, Jamshedpur will hope that Pronay can stop the attacks in their tracks.
