Match officials confirmed for AFC Champions League Final – 2nd Leg!

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has confirmed the cast of match officials who will oversee the second leg of the AFC Champions League 2023/24 Final.

The second leg of the enticing clash between United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s Al Ain FC and Japan’s Yokohama F Marinos will kick off at the spectacular Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on May 25.

As the premier men’s club competition enters its final hour, it will be Uzbekistan’s Ilgiz Tantashev taking charge. A mainstay of the Confederation’s roster, Ilgiz was also among the 74 match officials selected at the AFC Asian Cup earlier this year and has regularly provided his assistance in the AFC Champions League™ and the AFC Asian Qualifiers in the recent past.

The Uzbek official will be supported by assistant referees and compatriots Andrey Tsapenko and Timur Gaynullin whereas the responsibilities of fourth official and reserve assistant referee have been bestowed on Rustam Lutfullin and Sanjar Shayusupov respectively.

Joining the team in the Video Operations Room (VOR) will be China PR’s Fu Ming as the VAR, and Thailand’s Sivakoron Pu-udom providing support as Assistant VAR (AVAR).

Meanwhile, the first leg of the grand finale that took place at the Yokohama International Stadium on May 11, was overseen by an all-Qatari line-up, led by the distinguished Salman Ahmad Falahi, who has featured in several high-profile competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup earlier this year and the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina in 2023.
