New Balance Reveals FC Tokyo Home and Away Jerseys!

New Balance has unveiled J-League side FC Tokyo’s 2022 home and away kits.

The bespoke designs are part of the brand’s ‘Tokyo Is Now’ campaign. The campaign reflects on the city’s influence on global culture, as a place of innovation and progressive thinking and encourages young football fans to unite and spread the word.

FC Tokyo’s latest home jersey is a classic interpretation of the Club’s signature blue and red stripes and is completed with gold neck details, inspired by traditional Japanese print: “Ukiyo-e”.

Reminiscent of the lights at Ajinomoto Stadium, the white away shirt uses linear pin stripes flowing from red to blue, alongside a navy neck and sleeve trim.

The campaign launch creative for both kits have been uniquely influenced by international photographer, Justin Bettman. New Balance has worked in collaboration with Justin on the creative inspiration behind the concept which showcases the connection between the new season’s designs, the club, and its relationship with the city.

Equipped with innovative NB Dry technology, the shirt is engineered to help keep players fresh and dry. A jacquard ventilation system is added to promote optimum comfort.

Kenny McCallum, General Manager at New Balance Football, said, “The bold stripes of F.C. Tokyo are a fantastic canvas for New Balance design. We really wanted to preserve that tradition but with a fresh and modern twist, inspired by traditional Japanese print. It’s a great combination that we’re looking forward to seeing on the pitch this season.”

FC Tokyo player Shuto Abe said, “The new jerseys are great. I really like that the FC Tokyo blue and red stripes have a special reference to Japanese tradition. I’m sure this will get a great reaction from the fans and supporters too.”

The release is part of the brand’s ‘Tokyo Is Now’ campaign, which aims to celebrate Tokyo’s thriving youth culture.
