Like AS Roma’s new home kit, the Giallorossi’s 2019-20 away look by Nike is inspired by Jupiter, the Roman God of the Sky. In the design, the lightning bolt takes center stage — it runs like a sash, from the left shoulder to the right hip, jagging its way down an otherwise white shirt with vivid shades of crimson and orange.
“When you combine Roma’s famous colours with the depth of the city’s mythology then you have a really potent mix,” says Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director. “The lightning theme is a powerful concept for 2019-20, and I think both the home and away kits give fresh takes while staying true to the club’s identity.”
The kit is completed by crimson shorts and white socks, which feature a yellow lightning bolt detail as well as a Nike swoosh and the words “AS Roma” midway up the shin.
