Olympique Lyon sign striker Jeffinho!

Olympique Lyonnais have announced the transfer of the Brazilian striker Jeffinho from Botafogo for four and a half seasons, until June 30, 2027. The transfer amount is €10 million, to which may be added a maximum of €2.5 million in bonuses, according to the club’s performance and the player’s participation.

Trained in the Pelé Academia, the training centre of the Resende club, OL partners since 2019, Jeffinho joined the professional team in 2020 and made his first appearances in the Rio de Janeiro championship.

A year later, the Brazilian striker, well known among other things for his speed and qualities, was loaned to the Sociedade Esportiva do Gama, before returning to Resende and finally joining Botafogo. In the club belonging to Eagle Football, owned by John Textor, Jeffinho quickly established himself as one of the main pieces of the squad alongside two former Lyonnais, Fernando Marçal and Rafael.

Olympique Lyonnais is pleased in making this transfer a reality, strengthening the partnership between Resende, Botafogo and OL.

At just 23, Jeffinho became the 23rd Brazilian in the history of the club, showing the strong ties between OL and Brazil.

Jeffinho said, “OL are very popular in Brazil so when I knew the club was interested in me, I didn’t think about it, I was very happy. I hope to help Olympique Lyonnais get back to the top and win titles.”
