The closed door international friendly between India and the Philippines which was supposed to be played tomorrow on Friday, May 28 in Doha, Qatar has been cancelled.
The game was denied permission by the Qatari health authorities due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the local bio bubble restrictions for India and the Philippines.
For both sides the friendly match would have been a good and much necessary practice game ahead of their remaining joint second round 2022 FIFA World Cup/2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers next month.
India face hosts Qatar (June 3), Bangladesh (June 7), and Afghanistan (June 15) in their remaining three Group E matches in Doha.
News is that #India are set to play a friendly against the #Philippines in #Doha in the coming days as part of their preparations for their final three Round 2 qualifiers for the #2022FIFAWorldCup / #2023AFCAsianCup next month.#IndianFootball
