Salgaocar FC (SMRC) emerged victorious against Salgaocar FC (VMSB) in the El Shaddai Under-13 invitational tournament played in Assagao.
Teams hailing from different parts of Goa like Sporting Clube de Goa and El Shaddai besides outstation teams like Foot Fun Mumbai took part.
The tournament was played in a league system with two groups. The winners of both the groups were to compete each other in the finals.
Salgaocar FC (SMRC) topped their group by beating Sporting Clube de Goa 4-0, Foot Fun Mumbai 6-0 and GFDC Parra 1-0. For SFC (SMRC) Sherwin Abranches, Rui Naronha, Jordan Borges, Sydney Lucas were the goalscorers throughout the tournament. Keeper Rohan Gauncar kept a clean sheet through out the group stage.
Salgaocar FC (VMSB) topped their group by besting Dream Killers 2-1, Fun Foot Mumbai 4-0 and GFDC Poira 5-0. Gangaram Kharat proved to be lethal striker for his side and Sydney Dias also adding to the woes of the opponents, Shubham Velip and Reagan Fernandes added their names to the scoresheet.
It was an all Salgaocar FC final and as expected it was a match to watch, goals were expected but to everyones surprise it ended goalless. The tie breaker had to be introduced to settle the winners. Salgaocar FC (SMRC) keeper Rohan Gauncar stood tall between the posts and handed his team the much deserved victory against their own side Salgaocar FC (VMSB).
