Sevilla FC lands in Mexico with Aeromexico!

Sevilla FC have reached an agreement with Aeromexico that will strengthen both our position in Mexico and the airline’s in Spain.

In recent years, we have grown in terms of presence, following and audience in the Latin American country, and through this partnership with one of the most prominent companies in Mexico. Ambition on a global scale is a key element that we have in common with Aeromexico.

Our presence in Mexico has intensified in recent years through players such as Gerardo Torrado, Miguel Layun, Chicharito and Tecatito Corona. The club also made a visit to the country in August 2023 during the pre-season tour, in which we played a friendly match against Real Betis in Guadalajara. We have since begun to generate specific content for our Mexican fans.

“For us, creating ties between two important entities is great news and represents a big step forward in our international strategy, which has Mexico as one of our main focuses of growth. We have been carrying out specific actions for fans in Mexico – we were in Guadalajara playing the derby and we produce specific content for them. But this collaboration with a market leader in the country like Aeromexico, is a step that goes even further,” explained our President José María del Nido Carrasco.

Sonia Oliveras, Aeromexico’s Regional Sales Director, gave the following assessment: “The airline has shown resilience whenever necessary and has become a reference-point in international aviation, breaking its own records in interaction between Spain and Mexico this summer, just as Sevilla FC has broken country barriers and is reaching new heights. We are proud to announce this alliance that brings Spanish football and Mexico closer together than ever before.”

Aeromexico is Mexico’s global airline and one of the largest in the Americas. With head-quarters at Mexico City’s International Airport, Aeromexico has a long history in the sector and is about to celebrate 90 years of history and 61 years since its first flight to Madrid. It currently flies 107 domestic and international routes, seven of them in Europe.

Meanwhile, we continue to move forward with our internationalisation process through this agreement, enabling the growth of a fanbase outside Spain. Recently, the club’s official accounts on social media exceeded 20 million followers, with an international growth of 80%, and we have established ourselves as a key sports brand in Mexico, as well as in other markets such as the United States, the Middle East, China, India and Brazil, where we generate exclusive content for followers.
