At a joint meeting held today, the Executive Committee of DFL e.V. and the Supervisory Board of DFL GmbH unanimously agreed that the process regarding a strategic partnership at league level be continued and that the key points of a partnership be submitted to the 36 professional clubs for a decision to be made at an Extraordinary DFL Members Assembly on May 24, 2023.
Yesterday a number of preliminary, indicative offers were received in due time from several interested parties. Initial financial key points of the offers were presented to the governing bodies today. In addition, the governing bodies adopted criteria for the in-depth assessment and selection of a strategic partner with the aim of scaling the number of interested parties down to three in the next stage.
At today’s meeting, numerous suggestions were taken on board and detailed questions discussed on aspects to be incorporated into the overall concept. This concept will be outlined to the 36 professional clubs again in detail at two information meetings to be held in May so that any final suggestions may be taken into account. Once the concept is then finalised, at the Extraordinary DFL Members Assembly on 24 May the clubs will decide on the basis of the concept and the selected indicative offers whether to proceed to the next phase and conduct further negotiations with individual interested parties.
