The next generation of footballers are being groomed for the big time at the Tata Football Academy (TFA) as a part of the Jamshedpur FC Youth Team, and with more time and experience under their belt, they seem to be getting better and better.
One such player is Rayan C, who is currently plying his trade at TFA and learning the ropes of what it takes to be a top footballer.
The son of a police officer, the Under-15 cadet was scouted after a successful showing during the trials conducted by Jamshedpur FC a few months ago, and is ready to aim for the top.
“My family is from Kerala but my father works in Delhi as a police officer,” he confidently said.
“I got into football because my father encouraged me a lot and pushed me to take the sport up professionally as well.”
Rayan is one of the new generation players who is all about attacking football, and being a left winger, it should come as no surprise who his favourite players are.
“My favourite player is Cristiano Ronaldo, but in Jamshedpur FC I really admire Ritwik Das. These two players have really inspired me,” he remarked.
A product of the FC Noida football schools near Delhi, Rayan is now ready to take the big leap into the footballing world and sees this as the right platform for him to move forward in his career.
“I heard about the TFA trials from a friend and then saw it appear on social media for the first time. It was a really tough trial with a lot of players but when I got selected I was delighted, and so were my parents.”
The sky is the limit for talented Rayan, and he makes no qualms about it – his goal is to one day make it to the very top.
“I want to become a professional footballer, and one day play for my country. I’m sure that with the hard work and effort, I can make it there.”
Players like Rayan are being trained not just to become great footballers, but also great humans and it is this sort of all-round development that academies like TFA hope to inculcate in young footballers keen to make a career in the field.
