As ANI reports, the third season of the Super league was launched on October 1 at Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati with the opening match between NorthEast United FC and Kerala Blasters FC with the Northeast emerging as a power hub of football producing a huge pool of talented players every year.
Security was beefed up across the city with the arrival of Bollywood stars to witness the biggest football extravaganza ever in Guwahati and across the Northeast.
Abhishek Bachchan was among others who turned up to support the northeast region’s passion for the sport with Bollywood celebrities also joined by Cricketers M.S. Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar representing their respective teams.
The opening ceremony saw the glitz and glamour with Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandes and Varun Dhawan setting the stage on fire with performances on some of their most popular tracks.
