Commercial rights will be key to China achieving their target of substantially growing their sports industry by 2025. With a top-level line-up boasting extensive experience from the brand, agency and media perspectives, this discussion will provide expert insight into the future of commercial rights and the Chinese football industry, as part of the world class conference agenda at Soccerex China on May 23-24 in Hainan.

Yang, with experience across the entire sports industry, and expertise in the commercial rights of world football, will be a fantastic addition to this panel.

As an experienced practitioner of the Internet sports, culture and entertainment industries, Zeng Gang has worked across the entire sports production line, including content-sharing platforms and derivative industries, and has accumulated rich experience in Internet-TV Content Operation and Smart-TV Game Business Management. Zeng Gang’s current company PP Sports, owned by Suning Sports, is the first sports media platform in China to own the exclusive rights of Europe’s Big Five Football Leagues, and other major sports events run by organisations such as CFA, CSL, AFC, and WWE.

Previously Patrick was a driving force in the sale of media and sponsorship rights for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europe League for more than a decade. He is also the Founder of Catalyst Media Group (International Champions Cup), and Synergy Sports (advisor to the Latin American Football Confederation CONMEBOL, and to the Brazilian Football Federation CBF). Patrick spent most of the 1990’s in the Asian sports business in a variety of senior management roles at News corporation and ESPN STAR Sports.

Li Shuangfu, who will moderate this panel, started his career at Basketball Pioneers and Sina Sports as a sports reporter covering NBA in the USA and later became the first Chinese NBA beat writer who visited the White House. He then returned to China and co-founded Lanxiong Sports, a media platform originally served to deliver sports content. Their services have expanded to getting individuals and businesses connected in Financing, Sports Intelligence, Talent Sourcing and Events.

This culmination of knowledge and experience across the football and global sports industries will ensure that the “Importance of Commercial Rights to China’s Sports Economy” session will provide delegates with unrivalled insight from global industry leaders, as part of a stellar conference agenda for Soccerex China on May 23-24 in Hainan.
