Tipico and the Austrian Bundesliga are starting a new era together. The expiring league sponsorship agreement has been extended for another two seasons until the end of the season 2019/20 with an option for another year. Therefore Austrians top-flight football league will be named as “Tipico Bundesliga” for at least two more years. For the new season the Tipico Bundesliga will be reformed.
The partnership which has been ongoing since the summer of 2014 will be continued. The last four years are a success story for both sides. During this time, Tipico has become one of the most famous and prestigious sports betting providers in Austria.
In addition, Tipico has promoted the development of the Bundesliga and its clubs and will continue this advancement in a new era for Austrian football: Beginning with the new season the Tipico Bundesliga will be extended from 10 to 12 clubs. An additional championship round and Europa League playoffs should create more excitement during the competition.
Marlon van der Goes, Tipico Chief Commercial Officer, said, “The extension of our cooperation is a mutual commitment. Tipico and the Bundesliga stand for football, for trust and constant development. Our engagement in Austria has been promoting local football since 2014 and we are proud of that. We look forward to the coming seasons and for a new chapter in the Tipico Bundesliga after the league reform.”
Bundesliga CEO Christian Ebenbauer said, “We are pleased that we were able to extend our partnership with our sponsor Tipico in the long term. Therefore the premium product of Austrian club football and highest division will continue to be called “Tipico Bundesliga”. We will start with an innovative and established partner in the new Bundesliga era and look forward to the further common path.”
