XtraTime VIDEO: Mohammedan Sporting to play next two I-League matches behind closed doors!

Table toppers Mohammedan Sporting Club have decided to play their next two upcoming I-League home matches without any of their fans behind closed doors.

The Black Panthers management took this decision after fan violence had broken out at their last home against Real Kashmir FC.

The official statement reads, “Due to the unfortunate incidents of crowd violence at our last home game in the I-League the club initiated an internal discussion between all the stakeholders and concerned authorities. Subsequently it has been agreed that our next two I-League home matches to be played on 13th February, 2024 against Rajasthan United FC and Namdhari FC on 9th March, 2024 at the Naihati Bankimanjali Stadium will be played behind closed doors.”

With Mohammedan Sporting chasing to lift the 2023/24 I-League title and gain Indian Super League promotion this decision will deny home support for the next two matches.
